Ok, this one's for Cara, one of our most loyal Tripdub readers. Here's Jake thoroughly enjoying his Salad Nicoise from his new Ratatouille cookbook. Capers, tuna, boiled eggs, green beans, cherry tomatoes, this kid was in heaven. Ok, he didn't touch the lettuce, but he'll get there....

one time, about 4 years ago- I ate at La Tasca and I asked the waitress to bring me a "salad"- I just wanted some lettuce with dressing on it- I would have tolerated many versions of "salad"- and I was slightly queasy from the the night before. But THIS! This Is what she brought me- something with eggs! tuna! olives! THE HORROR!! I havent been back since. And actually-- now that I think about it- I RAN INTO you guys that very day, following that very offensive salad. At harrys tap room. In (GASP!) virginia! Outside of the city! DOUBLE GASP! I was tipsy (surprise), you were secretly house hunting out here in the country- what did you guys wind up doing with that whole house thing anyway?? :)
